THEATRE WORKS
Artforms: Theatre & Scripts
Do you dream of a career on stage or in the performing arts, but not sure where to start?
THEATRE WORKS is a practical program for young actors to explore bold contemporary theatre in a way that mirrors professional rehearsal processes. Guided by experienced theatre artists, participants dissect scripts and develop characters for performance.
The program builds confidence, collaboration, and stagecraft, leading to an opportunity to present work to an audience, either through an informal class showing or public performance tracing the full journey from page to stage.

What should I (or my young person) prepare and wear to a workshop?Welcome to Corrugated Iron! If you’re new to our workshops, we understand that stepping into a new environment can feel intimidating. We’re here to make your experience enjoyable and comfortable. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for your workshop: 1. Arrive on time Arriving on time gives you a chance to meet the team, get familiar with the workshop space and have time to warm up. 2. Wear Comfortable Clothes General Workshops: Wear clothes that allow free movement. You might roll on the floor, stretch, or perform active movements, so flexibility is key. T-shirts, singlets, shorts or leggings are ideal. Aerial Workshops: For aerial workshops, full-length or ¾-length leggings are recommended. These provide comfort and protection against friction from the apparatus. Note: Many participants come straight from school in their uniforms, which is perfectly fine. Most people remove their shoes and socks during workshops. 3. Bring a Healthy Snack It’s easier to stay focused and engaged if you’re not hungry. A healthy snack before the workshop can make all the difference. Avoid sugary foods, as they can affect behaviour and focus. 4. Bring a Water Bottle Staying hydrated is important. We have a bubbler on-site where you can refill your water bottle as needed.
