There are a handful of collectives and programs that Corrugated Iron supports.
BIG DOG SALAD
2023 COMPANY IN RESIDENCE
Big Dog Salad is a team of creatives with backgrounds in theatre, dance, film, writing, and more! They started with a podcast, then moved on to YouTube sketches, followed by short films and stage shows.
They recently took their sketch comedy show ‘Big Dog Salad LIVE’ to Adelaide Fringe and are feeling inspired to keep creating and doing more shows. This is BDS third year at Darwin Fringe and so excited to show everyone their new short works.
Keep up to date with all BDS stuff by following them on social media and subscribing to their YouTube channel.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
A three month structured placement as part of Arts NT's NXT Gen Arts Grants our emerging Artist in Residence will develop their experience of working within an arts organisation as well as have access to space to work on their own practice.
Work alongside Corrugated Iron staff and artists in the workshop program, contribute to creative development processes and play a key role in the development of a new work for Darwin Fringe Festival.
NXT Gen Arts Grants provide structured career development for Northern Territory (NT) early career artists or art workers aged 18 – 25 years through a professional practice placement.
COMPANY IN RESIDENCE
At Corrugated Iron, we’re always seeking ways we can support the NT’s early career and emerging artists. We know that having a physical space to dream, play and experiment is an integral part of creating, so we’re swinging our doors open to welcome a group or collective of artists aged 18 – 30 to be our Company in Residence.
The 2023 residency will take place between May and November.
Upon successful application, the company will work with Corrugated Iron’s Creative Producer (Programs) to devise an in-residence program and schedule.
This opportunity is for a company or collective of 2 or more artists under 30 who work creatively together. Examples include:
a ready formed group of actors and/or circus performers who work together to put on shows
a collective of film makers who are working together/want to work together on a shared project
a group of creatives with varying artistic practices work who are interested in collaborating
