FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FEES

Do I need to pay for classes in advance?

Fees must be paid or instalment payment plan received before participants can begin classes. Instalment payments may be made by arrangement with the Workshop Coordinator or General Manager before term starts. Enrolments may happen in advance of Sports Vouchers being available. Sports Vouchers must be provided by week three. Invoices will be issued for outstanding amounts at this time.

Is there a discount for multiple workshops or part-term enrolments?

A discount applies for multi-class or multi-child enrolments, or concession card holders (participant must be named on the card and card must be sighted by staff).

Enrolments part-way through term or semester are paid pro-rata.

CLASS CANCELLATION AND MISSED CLASSES

What happens if the class is too small?

Corrugated Iron reserves the right to cancel classes should enrolment numbers not be sufficient to continue the class.

What happens if I cannot get to a class or it falls on a public holiday?

Missed classes will not be reimbursed. No catch up classes are available for individuals.

If Corrugated Iron has to cancel a class, a make-up class will be rescheduled where possible.

We tend not to run classes on long weekends and public holidays. We check in with families if we want to. Sometimes it is necessary to ensure we get the full term of classes in.

TRIAL CLASSES

Can I test drive a class and see if I like it?

Trial classes are available for a one-off fee of $30 that will come off the term price.

Trial classes may only happen in the first two weeks of term and only if there are spaces in the class.

Our recommendation is to sign up for the term and encourage your participant to attend more than one week in order to give the class a good test. We can discuss refunding the class if it is not suitable.

REFUNDS

Will I get a refund if I don't like the class or cannot attend anymore?

Refund of cancelled bookings is at the discretion of Corrugated Iron. The reason for the refund and timeframe will be taken into consideration.

PARTICIPATION & EXPECTATIONS

Does my child have to be in their age group?

Age ranges and competency levels are there for a reason. Different classes need particular focus and concentration, and with older classes, maturity is required as young people tackle content. We are happy to discuss your child’s aptitude, focus and maturity in relation to class placements.

My child has trouble concentrating/sitting still/listening - how can I support their participation?

We expect young people to behave and follow instructions especially when safety is involved.

Parents are expected to talk to us about their child’s behaviour especially if there are strategies we can use to support their participation. We will talk to parents about their child’s behaviour if it is detracting from the other participants’ class time.

My child will make their own way to class after school. Is this okay?

Young people who arrive early for class are unsupervised, and our expectation is that they sit quietly in the foyer. Parents should be aware that the office may be unattended, and in other venues, Corrugated Iron staff will arrive just before class. It is good if they have a book and they should have a healthy afternoon snack.

Parents and participants must provide up to date contact details.
