Add more skills to your performance toolkit in our Masterclass Series where we invite specialist artists to share their expertise.  

Join mask and physical theatre specialist Nicky Fearn for 3 workshops that will grow your performance skills and enhance your onstage physicality. Through mask, Viewpoints and composition, Nicky will lead participants through a series of exercises that will accommodate all experience levels. Participants must attend all 3 workshops.

Nicky Fern Artist Bio
Artist bio: Nicky has worked in both Australia and Europe as a performer, writer, teacher and director since 1980. She is the Artistic Director of Darwin-based Business Unusual and creates original work exploring the combination of visual imagery, physical theatre, mask, puppetry and text. As a freelance performer/director/collaborator, Nicky has worked with many Darwin artists and companies. In Europe Nicky worked with leading mask company Trestle and with Horse and Bamboo Theatre, one of the UK’s leading visual companies touring extensively in Europe. She was co-founder of Skin and Blisters circus theatre company and co-founder of Amsterdam-based multi-media group Too Much Art. Other companies Nicky has worked with include The Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Darwin Theatre Company, Sanity Productions, Krazy Kat (UK), Knock-em-Down Theatre and Tracks. Nicky studied at Flinders University S.A. and Rose Bruford College, London. She has also trained with Phillipe Gaulier, Theatre de Complicite and with the Italian director Carlo Bosso in commedia d’ell arte. Nicky has a post-graduate diploma in theatre directing from The Victorian College of the Arts.
