Flip the Script is a writing and performance workshop that gets your stories down on paper and performed to a live audience!

This two-part combo workshop begins by developing your skills as a playwright. You’ll be led through a series of fun writing exercises to create short scripts to be performed later in the day. Haven’t written a script before? No problem! This workshop will give you all the tools you need.

For the afternoon we’ll move on to performance skills, using the newly created scripts. Following a short rehearsal process, family & friends are invited to watch the performances as we bring the scripts to life!

A time long, long ago… long before mobile phones and coloured TV (according to our young people. The time was the 1980’s), there was a corrugated iron shed that housed what would become Darwin’s longest running youth arts organisation. Having since moved homes, to celebrate Brown's Mart's anniversary CIYA are going back to our roots. Join our emerging performers in a program of events; from theatre, to circus, to an intimate immersive experience – all based around our first home, ‘The Shed.’
