A.R.T. (Activating Red Tape)
by 18 - 30 Drama Ensemble
C.I.Y.A (Corrugated Iron Youth Arts) in conjunction with S.M.A.R.T.A.R.T.S. (Socially Manipulative Arm of the Ridiculously Tedious Acronym and Red Tape Society) and Darwin Fringe present A.R.T. – Activating Red Tape – A fantastically funny take on the perils, pitfalls and perfunctory permutations of battling bureaucracy.
The 18-30 Drama Ensemble are equipped with 10 kilometres of red tape. Yes, actual Red Tape! Their ‘office’ is located 17 Knuckey St where audience/participants will be welcomed to collaborate in the creation of a wondrously woven web of red tape strands that symbolise their journey into the fascinating (yet, at times, tedious) world of bureaucracy.
Come in family or social groups, come as individuals, come as you are and be ready to Activate Red Tape! A fantastically fun Fringe experience for absolutely everyone!
Is the concept deeper than just having fun? Is the tape representative of the connections we make with other humans during that process of making something happen? Is the tape like blood vessels or nerves in some bureaucratic beast that resembles an office space, connecting the organs that are the people working there and the clients who depend on them? Is it a symbol wrapped in a metaphor? O.P.C.D. (Only Participants Can Decide).
Event is drop-in immersive installation. Drop-in anytime. Experience will last approx. 45 minutes.
