INDIGENOUS ARTS PROGRAM
The Indigenous Arts Program has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years since its formal shape was initiated within the Corrugated Iron overall program. Currently the program includes outreach residencies, commissioned projects, the twice yearly Nitestreet events, as well as looking for opportunities to deepen ongoing artistic experience and excellence.
The Indigenous program continues to operate in a very consultative and responsive manner, with a focus on facilitating activities requested by participants and partners. This approach ensures appropriate, and often flexible programming, and forces us to be innovative to meet the needs presented.
In 2010 the program was awarded Affiliate Partner Status with the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Arts Board Of the Australia Council for the Arts in recognition of our work with Indigenous young people in the Top End. This program continues to grow substantially and we are seeking further resources to ensure these opportunities go on and expand to meet the demand.
Based in the Northern suburb of Nightcliff, Corrugated Iron’s Indigenous Arts Program offers
