Your donation can help us continue to deliver the quality and diversity of services we are known for.
From affordable workshops to purchasing the latest in circus equipment and new technology, from performances showcasing the talents of our local young artists to mentoring for young workshop tutors and arts administrators, donations make you a vital partner in Corrugated Iron's work in the Northern Territory.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Our current fundraising project is:
Cool Our Hall
Corrugated Iron runs many of its workshops and performances at our home base in the Nightcliff Community Centre. At present our hall is not air-conditioned, leaving our participants and audiences to swelter in high temperatures and humidity. They say “creativity prospers in adversity” – we’d rather challenge our youth with learning new skills than extremes of climate!
With your support we will cool our hall. Using energy efficient cooling we’ll keep our running costs low and our activity rates high.
Donations also contribute to our overall program. Here are some of the ways your contribution can help us continue to deliver quality services:
• Keep workshop costs affordable
Our commitment to accessibility and diversity means we keep the fees down and the teaching quality high. Reasonable costs ensure that attending Corrugated Iron Youth Arts is not out of any young person’s reach.
• Purchase new circus equipment
Our circus classes are incredibly popular. Circus allows us to engage with a broad range of kids through annual workshops, outreach programs in schools and Indigenous communities, and special workshops for newly arrived immigrants and refugees. With purchases of new equipment we can offer a wide variety of skills training and keep our equipment safe and up-to-date.
• Provide exceptional performance opportunities
Every year we create unique performances that tell the stories of young Territorians to a wide audience. These performances highlight all our young members, from beginners making their first appearance on stage to our 18<24 crew putting their skills to the test as performers, writers, directors and technicians.
• Mentor a young Territorian to learn their craft as a workshop instructor or arts administrator
Corrugated Iron invests in the future careers of local youth. We actively train and mentor young people interested in taking on roles as workshop instructors and arts administrators.
• Purchase the latest in new technology so our participants can stay at the forefront of digital media such as film-making, editing, and design.
Technology is changing rapidly. Corrugated Iron provides Territory youth access and training for new technology and digital media through workshops, and performance seasons such as ‘Tease’
